Blu-U is a light therapy treatment that uses blue light to kill the acne-causing bacteria P. acne. The narrow band blue light heats up the affected oil glands, thus killing the bacteria and causing the acne to be reduced. In addition, Blu-U exfoliates the skin to unclog pores and shrinks the oil glands (sebaceous glands) in the skin.
During your Blu-U sessions, you will sit with your face close to the light for approximately 17 minutes once or twice per week. Depending on the severity of the condition and the area(s) of treatment, you will undergo sessions for five or so weeks. After the initial rounds of treatment, Be Medispa recommends maintenance treatments to sustain your results.
